ABOUT ME

Dr. Laura K. Clark Hunt has served in libraries for over ten years. Her experience has involved both public and academic libraries, and her roles have focused on management, accessibility, and programming. Her dissertation focused on emergent literacy in public libraries and was celebrated as one of the most notable dissertations for 2017 by American Libraries

https://americanlibrariesmagazine.org/2017/05/01/2017-notable-dissertations/.

She was a post-doc at the University of West Florida from 2017 to 2018 and conducted the first statewide assessment of public outreach programs. Her diverse expertise in program assessment has been applied to all ages and physical abilities, including underwater programs for dive masters. Before taking a position at USM, she served as a library director in the University System of Georgia.

Her current research still stems from an assessment perspective and focuses on the application of theory and accessibility. Collaborative research projects are of particular concern to her because they offer opportunities for interdisciplinary discovery and impact. Her research interests include library assessment, privacy, library users with disabilities, and library management.
